rapi:t (???? rapiito?) is a rapid train service between Kansai International Airport and Namba Station in Osaka, Japan. It is operated by Nankai Electric Railway, and the train service uses on the Nankai Main Line and the Airport Line. The name comes from the German word rapid, pronounced .
The futuristic six-car rapi:t trainsets, officially designated as the Nankai 50000 series, were designed by architect Wakabayashi Hiroyuki and won the Blue Ribbon Prize after entering service in 1995.
Station Stops
There are two classes of rapi:t service. rapi:t ? takes 34 minutes from Kansai to Namba, stopping at Shin-Imamiya, Tengachaya, Sakai, Kishiwada, Izumisano, and Rink? Town. rapi:t ? takes 29 minutes, stopping at Shin-Imamiya, Tengachaya, Izumisano, and Rinku Town. Both trains cost ¥1,390 for a one-way ticket, ¥500 dearer than the normal rapid service train.
? trains operate every day, with a ? train per hour from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. and 2 ? trains per hour from 10 a.m. until the last train on weekdays. There are only three ? trains in the morning on weekdays (departing from Namba at 7 o’clock a.m., 8 o’clock a.m. and 9 o’clock a.m.). On Saturdays and holidays, there are only 2 ? trains per hour. All seats are reserved.
